Call for entries for Documentaries from Southeast Asia
日本各地の放送局発 ドキュメンタリーを大募集
DocCross Asia is planning to revamp its website and create a streaming site for documentaries from Japan and Southeast Asia. By juxtaposing documentary films from various perspectives, we believe the new site will convey the power of documentaries and help us deepen our understanding of multiculturalism. We also believe it will be an excellent opportunity for Japanese viewers, including broadcasters, filmmakers, and producers, to become more familiar with Asian documentaries.
We kindly call on your support and participation by providing us with your documentary works. We will cooperate with the Japan Foundation Asia Center and select several films that we will deliver with Japanese subtitles.
新しいサイトでは、現在制作進行中の３本の企画の紹介に加え、日本各地の放送局やケーブルテレビ局で制作されたドキュメンタリーをセレクトし世界に配信します。また、東南アジア各国で制作されたドキュメンタリーを日本国内向けに配信します。
日本における多文化共生をテーマに、過去に放映された番組に改めて光を当て、国内外の制作者の多様な視点を発信することで、ドキュメンタリーの持つ力と多文化共生の「今」と「未来」を考えるプラットフォームを目指します。
現在、全国の放送局で制作されたドキュメンタリー作品を募集中です。
集まった作品の中から、地域やテーマを考慮してセレクトし、英語字幕をつけてオンライン配信します。放送局がお持ちの優れたコンテンツを世界に紹介するまたとない機会ですので、「これは」と思われる作品をぜひご提供ください。
ご協力いただきました放送局及び制作者の皆様には、今年11月下旬に開催するDocCross Asia成果発表会へご参加いただけます。
成果発表会はオンラインでの実施を予定しております。
国内外のドキュメンタリー制作者やプロダクションの方々が参加予定ですので、多くの関係者との交流の場としてご活用いただければと願っております。
What we are looking for:
- English language or English subtitled documentaries created by Southeast Asian filmmakers. Filmmakers from South Asia, Australia, and New Zealand are also eligible.
- Theme: documentaries that give us a hint about multiculturalism, showing, for example, the lives of Asian people in a foreign country or a diverse community in Asia. Themes that are common to audiences in different countries are preferred over stories or issues specific to a particular region or ethnic group. The story doesn't necessarily have to be related to Japan.
- Length: from 20 min. to about 60 min.
- Copyrights: all music, sound, and footage rights must be cleared for distribution on YouTube.
The films will be selected based on the region, theme, and whether the content will appeal to a large audience.

対象
全国の民放テレビ局とケーブルテレビ局
ご提供いただきたい番組
- 民放テレビ局、またはケーブルテレビ局で制作され、ローカルまたは全国放送のドキュメンタリー枠で放送されたもの
- 制作時期：過去5年（2016年以降）に制作されたもの
- 番組内容：日本の各地域に住む東南アジアの方々の姿が描かれ、多文化共生社会への取り組みが垣間見えるもの
- 番組尺：20 分〜60 分程度
- 選考基準：地域やテーマが偏らないか、内容が海外の視聴者に分かり易いかなどを考慮します
番組を使わせていただくことになった場合のお支払い
ドキュメンタリー番組一本につき、協力費として30,000円程度。
英語字幕について
字幕制作およびその費用はDocCross Asia側で負担いたします。
なお、英語字幕付きの番組の著作権・使用権は放送局に帰属します。
配信期間
掲載時〜最⻑で今年の12月末まで（12月末以降は静止画に差し替えます）。
配信開始に合わせて、ウェブサイトに掲載用の「制作者のコメント」等をお願いする予定です。詳細は個別にご相談させていただきます。
DocCross Asiaで行う作業
- 英語字幕の制作
- 共通タイトル、共通エンド、CM前後など一部編集
- ご相談の上、配信に向けて必要な音楽の権利処理を行います
If you are selected:
- Your film will be distributed online from the release date until the end of December 2021 on DocCross Asia’s new website with Japanese subtitles.
- DocCross Asia will cover the Japanese subtitling cost.
- You will own the copyright and the right to reuse the Japanese subtitled version.
- DocCross Asia will pay a cooperation fee of US$300 per film.
- You will be invited as a speaker to an online gathering for filmmakers from Japan and Southeast Asia, an exchange event organized as part of DocCross Asia’s premiere in late November 2021.
